No reflective material

I have my Church seedlings in the kitchen under 2 x 200w cfl's. They are just out in the open. Seeing as how there is no mylar or anything, do you think it will make much difference? They say once light is reflected or refracted, it loses a ton of it's punch. I don't want runts so someone straighten me out if I'm wrong

Re: No reflective material

i think that it loses a ton of punch after it gets reflected, i use cfl lights and i use mylar and it seems to reflect the light a little but not much
i think mylar is more for hps or mh
your topping tutorial was brilliant by the way

Reflective material does make a difference, but with CFL's the light output degrades pretty quickly and so you won't see the effects as much. I'd say that adding reflective material is worthwhile in general, but it's always hard to say how much it would help. You could do an experiment, with one plant surrounded by reflective material and one with out, and note the differences.
